The person you’re calling.

I’m Victor Jurgens. I spent six years as a wealth-management adviser before starting KA-NO-PE in Paris in 2020, and in those six years I kept seeing the same thing: clients with a good lawyer, a good notaire and a good banker, and nobody responsible for the whole. Each specialist did their part. The project still stalled in the gaps between them. I decided to make the gaps my job.

Since then I’ve run acquisitions, sales, renovations, relocations, company set-ups and a fair number of situations that don’t fit in any category, for people who live in the United States, Asia, the Pacific and elsewhere in Europe. The ones I work best with have two things in common: they are building something, and they hand over the whole. An artist preparing a catalogue and looking for a gallery. A physician buying her first apartment in Paris from San Francisco. Founders on the other side of the world creating a French company that no bank would open an account for. We opened it anyway.

What I like about this work is the relationships. My first clients are still my clients. One of them came for a purchase, stayed for a sale and a renovation, and called me again years later when his life changed and he needed a place within a week. That’s the job as I understand it: not a transaction, a person on the ground for as long as you have something here.

Two things you should know before you call. I don’t give legal, tax or investment advice. I choose the people who do, and I make sure they talk to each other. And I say no early: if I’m not the right fit, you’ll know in twenty minutes, along with the name of someone who is.

I work from Paris, in English and French, with a small team and a lot of documentation. Everything we do on your property ends up in one file, kept alive for as long as you own it.

The name comes from canopée, the canopy: the upper layer of a rainforest, where the trees meet and where most of the forest’s life happens. Below, each tree grows on its own. Above, everything connects. That is where we work.

Tell me what you're starting in France.

Twenty minutes. If we are not the right fit, I will say so and tell you who is.
